The new images show Jason, Lucia and Vice City, while a hands-on demonstration reveals more about robberies, police pursuits and everyday life in Leonida.
GTA VI fans have been given another look at Leonida, with 12 new screenshots appearing alongside an in-depth Edge magazine feature.
The images offer fresh views of protagonists Jason and Lucia, Vice City police officer Méndez, the city skyline and the natural landscapes beyond its streets.
The screenshots accompany a 16-page feature in Edge issue 430, following a visit to Rockstar’s Edinburgh headquarters. During the visit, Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson demonstrated a current build of the game, giving the magazine a closer look at how players can explore Leonida, commit crimes and escape the police.
Here are some of the details from Edge’s feature, alongside what the new screenshots show.
A closer look at Jason and Lucia
The new images give fans another view of GTA VI’s central characters, who have been at the heart of Rockstar’s marketing.
One screenshot shows Jason and Lucia during a robbery, while others show the pair on the move through Leonida. Another image features Méndez, a member of the Vice City Police Department.
Edge’s demonstration also showed how players can switch between Jason and Lucia when the story allows. During one getaway, Nelson switched from the character driving a motorcycle to the passenger, taking control of the person shooting at pursuing vehicles.
What can players do in GTA VI?
Beyond the screenshots, Edge’s feature describes a range of activities and systems that players will encounter in Leonida. These are details from Rockstar’s demonstration and developer interviews; some build on information shown previously.
Catch a bus or train
Players will be able to use working bus and train networks to travel around Leonida.
Rockstar’s Phil Hooker told Edge that he has spent time testing the bus routes, waiting at stops and riding across the world. For players who want to take in their surroundings without driving, public transport offers another way to see the state.
Spend time together at the gym or on the beach
Jason and Lucia’s relationship is tracked across a four-point scale, with their closeness generally increasing as they spend time together.
Edge describes activities including walking on the beach, cycling, driving around and working out at a gym after purchasing a membership. Players can influence the closeness of their relationship as the story progresses.
The feature also raises the possibility of marriage, but Rockstar did not confirm whether the pair can marry.
Visit clubs and buy everyday items
Rockstar’s Aaron Garbut described how players can spend time in Leonida doing everyday activities, including visiting a club, taking the train and buying items such as cigarettes and beer from shops.
It is an appealing prospect for players who enjoy slowing down between missions and treating an open world as a place to spend time, rather than simply rushing towards the next objective.
Rob stores and steal cars for criminal contacts
Players will be able to earn money through activities including holding up petrol stations and jewellery stores or stealing vehicles requested by criminal contacts.
An in-game phone app called WAINK lists vehicles wanted by fences, along with information about their security. Edge reports that some higher-end cars can transmit their location to police, while the condition of a vehicle affects part of the payment received for delivering it.
That could make choosing a target and looking after the getaway vehicle just as important as getting away in the first place.
Have a vehicle delivered and refuel it
Players can use the Scooter Bros app to have one of their cars delivered for a fee. Edge says the character’s weapons are stored in the car’s boot, making the vehicle useful for more than getting around.
Vehicles also have fuel gauges and engine-health indicators. According to the feature, cars can travel a long way before needing fuel, and refilling is a quick process.
Police pursuits and robberies could be less predictable
Edge’s demonstration suggests that committing a crime—and escaping afterwards—will involve more than simply driving away.
The preview describes a heat system that tracks details police know about a suspect, including their clothing, weapon and whether they were with a partner. Changing clothes, dropping a weapon or splitting up can help make a character less recognisable.
During one pursuit shown to Edge, police deployed a tyre-deflating strip. After Jason and Lucia were thrown from their motorcycle, a police dog joined the chase and pinned Jason to the ground.
Players may also need to think twice when stealing a car. Edge reports that some drivers will flee, while others may be armed and fight back. A witness or vehicle tracker could create further complications.
Your choices shape your criminal profile
Rockstar has also discussed a Criminal Profile system that tracks Jason and Lucia’s behaviour on a scale from Professional to Irredeemable.
According to Edge, players can use threats, intimidation or non-lethal force in some situations, while a more violent approach contributes to a different profile. Rockstar says that profile will influence how the pair’s story unfolds.
The feature does not establish every possible consequence of those choices, but it suggests players will have some influence over the kind of criminals Jason and Lucia become.
Vice City and the world beyond it
The screenshots also highlight the contrast between GTA VI’s city and the wider state of Leonida.
A view of the Vice City skyline shows the waterfront and high-rise buildings, while other images feature the wetlands and an underwater scene with a shark. The collection also includes bikers and a nighttime event.
Together with Edge’s gameplay demonstration, the images provide another taste of a world that players will soon be able to explore at their own pace.
Where can you see the screenshots and read the feature?
The screenshots accompany Edge’s GTA VI cover story in issue 430. The full feature is available to read online through GamesRadar+, and the image collection can be viewed in RockstarINTEL’s screenshot gallery.
GTA VI is scheduled to launch on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
With functioning public transport, more complicated robberies and new ways to spend time together, Edge’s feature suggests that players will have plenty to do between the game’s main story missions.
Which of the new details are you most excited about? Will you be planning robberies, exploring Leonida by train or simply seeing where the world takes you?
